The School Carnival

Westside has a Spring Carnival every year. The kids love it and totally look forward to going. We always have a blast!! This year the Brayden and Adelyn were super excited to get their hair painted...It wasn't my favorite thing ever, but they loved it!! Usually it's hot and feels like summer during the carnival, but this year it was chilly and we were really lucky that we didn't get rained on!!

At first, Adelyn didn't want to get her hair sprayed, but then she saw Brayden do it and changed her mind. I'm glad that the kids don't really want blue hair.

Here is Brayden and Adelyn with Kirsten and Zachary Stitt. They are all buddies, they are in the same classes and they always have fun playing together. I'm grateful that our kids have good friends!!

Even with striped and polka dot hair you two are the cutest kiddos ever!!

Sophie loves Candace. Brandon, Candace and Holly are some of our best friends. After Sophie went down one slide, she was scared and didn't want to go down anymore unless Candace went with her. So of course Candace went down the slides with her, she carried her around, cuddled her....Talk about a good sport/friend!!! Sophie wanted to be with Candace the entire time. Thank you Candace, you always go the extra mile!!

Brayden and Adelyn were fearless!! The bigger the better. It was so much fun to see them having a blast!!

Ok, they had this "Gladiator" thingy and the kids loved it!!!! Here is Holly and Brayden about to duke it out.

Kathryn Stitt is such a good friend and person. I'm grateful that my kids have good friends and I'm grateful that I love their moms soooo much!! It works out perfectly!!!

I love the look on Sophie's face in this picture. She loved the bounce house especially because all the kids were in their together! I love to see my kids happy with a big smile on their faces!!!

Brayden the Macho man, and all these beautiful girls....I'm truely blessed!!

We are excited that summer is coming and that the weather is getting warmer!! I can't wait till my kids will all be home with me!! I can't wait for school to get out!! Yeah, only one more week!!

The Zoo full of 1st Graders

Brayden and I had so much fun on his field trip to the Hogle Zoo with all the 1st graders at Westside. I'm grateful that I can switch off babysitting with Kathryn Stitt, and for Bryan and Helga and Melody Weston and Candace Carter who have made it possible this year for me to be able to go on field trips and help in Brayden and Adelyn's classes. I love being involved in their lives and I love knowing their teachers and friends!! Brayden and I had a blast at the zoo.

Wow riding with a bus full of 1st graders was interesting, fun and loud...I had a headache when we got home, but it was well worth it!!

Everyone just loves Brayden. I'm glad you have so many good friends and that you are such a good boy!!

The kids had so much fun looking at all the animals. Brayden was so excited to see the Lion and can you believe it, there isn't a Lion at the Hogle Zoo. And they call them selves a zoo. Sorry Brayden!

My Dad!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!! I just wanted you to know how much I love you!! You are an amazing example to LeGrand and I and our kiddos!! Dad you have always been there for me, you were my biggest fan during all my basketball and volleyball games. You have always love me and taught me how to choose the right, and even when I made mistakes you just loved me even more. I Love you Dad and I consider myself a very lucky girl to have you as my Father!!! You are the best Grandpa and Dad we could ever ask for!! Thank you for leading our family in righteousness!!! Our Swing Set and Fence!!!!

Our Swing Set and Our Fence

As you can tell Our Swing Set and Fence were in desperate need of some attention...so we went to Home Depot and got all the supplies. It took about 3 weeks to get it all done since it kept raining, everything else was so busy, but after 2 full Saturday's and many more hours it's Finally Done!!! Yay!!! Thanks for working so hard on it LeGrand, and Chris and Brandon and Candace. You guys are awesome!! We really appreciate your help and friendship!! Thanks again!!!

This was Kolby's first time in the swing!! He loved it!!! What a cutie!!!! I can't believe he's growing up sooo fast!!

Sophie's Toe

On April 20th Sophie was trying to get some fishy crackers out of the pantry one day after Church. As she pulled the box out it also pulled a big can of progresso soup down too and the can landed right on her toe. I picked her up, and noticed that she was bleeding all over the place. I ran to the sink and tried to get it all under control while calling for LeGrand to come and help me. Thank goodness he had just got home from Bishopric meetings... I'm embarrassed to say that I started feeling queasy...LeGrand was able to trade off with me and I layed down so I wouldn't pass out. (I didn't think I'd get dizzy with a little bit of blood...who knew!!) I was sure her little toe was broken, but the next morning she woke us and just started running around. Wow, what a blessing.

It's been a long process and it's still not all the way healed. Her toe nail was cracked in half, then she lost it and now it's growing back! I'm so grateful that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!! Sophie I'm soooo sorry you got hurt, but you were a very tough little girl!!!! We love you Sweetheart!

Our Bus Stop

Every morning something happens that causes me mixed emotions...let me explain. The bus stop is right in front of our house which is super convenient. It is so cute to see Brayden get on the bus, he is so excited and independant. He gets on the bus and he sits in his seat and sits there waving at me and blowing me kisses till the bus drives away. I love going out and waving and blowing kisses to my Bray-Man. I'm glad that in his eyes his mom is still "cool" and that he openly shows his love for me. When we exchange this brief expression of love 5 days a week, it brings a smile to my face. The reason I say that I have mixed emotions is because I miss the kids when they are at school, they are all growing up so fast, but I do love every stage that we go thru, even if they are just getting more and more independant! It helps me remember how precious my little ones are and reminds me to enjoy every minute!!!!

Ok, so the funny thing is, I go outside and wave every day and most of the time Brayden isn't the only one waving. It's cute, I get lots of waves and even some kisses blown at me from other kids...It makes me smile and hopefully it helps them smile too.
