Fancy Nancy Party

It is nearly impossible to not fall in love with the wonderfully written Fancy Nancy series, and after reading it you may find it hard to resist the urge to add a little more extravagance to your life. For Sophie's 4th Birthday Party we decided that the most spectacular way to celebrate was dolling up and going Fancy Nancy Style. I owe a Big Thanks to Kirsten. She made this invitation for me....isn't it Glamorous?!?!
Our party consisted of a lot of fuchsia (a fancy word for purple) and exquisite (a fancy word for fancy) ensembles. We had so much fun planning for her party. We picked out lots of pink and purple Ribbon, Streamers, balloons, flowers, fingernail polish, fancy food and Pink Cupcakes. As all our little Fancy Nancy's arrived we read some of the Fancy Nancy Books. Next we played Pin the Jewel on the Tiara, Then we went to Charm School, where they learned to curtsy, to walk with proper posture with books on their heads, to drink with their pinkie fingers lifted and learned some fancy vocabulary and French words. Then we escorted them into the Posh Pampering Salon for their manicures and make-up which consisted of Finger nail Polish and lip gloss. Then we played a Life Size Fancy Nancy Board Game (we took the idea from the Fancy Nancy Big Board Game that Sophie got for Christmas.) The girls had partners and rolled a huge dice. When they got to a station they got Accessories like, rings, bracelets, necklaces, tiara's, purses, earrings, wands...The final station that they got to was the Dinning Hall. The girls were all dolled up and we enjoyed a very fancy luncheon of Mac & Cheese, Hot Dogs, Sandwiches, Grapes... (I was a little disappointed in Sophie's selection of food...but it was her party after all so I just tried to make these as FANCY as possible. Little Frilly tooth picks can even make hot dogs look Amazing.) The kids loved it...especially Sophie!! She opened presents, then we ate fancy Pink Cupcakes topped with Tiara's. I don't think it could have gone any better....the girls all left wanting more, loaded up with their Fancy Accessories and a Fancy Nancy Coloring Book....which I found here.. http://printables4kids.com/fancy-nancy-printables/ .
It was a success and we probably had way to much fun doing it!!
Doesn't Sophie look just like Fancy Nancy?? Red hair and everything! Soooo Precious!
Of Course I have to include the pictures of the Candace and I having too much fun being Fancy!
Ooh la la!!! Enough said;)

Becca, thanks for inviting Clara! She was so excited to go until she realized she'd have to give her present to Sophie forever. She spent about a 1/2 hour crying about it and then fell asleep on my bed 1 min. before I was to load her up in the car to take her to the party. I was excited to see her play with her cousins, and from the looks of things, it looked like she really missed out. Sorry that we couldn't make it! It looks like it was awesome!

Your blog was helpful in planning my daughters birthday but please take down the comment about "The church..." as there are many churches and religions in this world and your church is not "THE CHURCH".

How sweet!! Your daughter is looking like a fairy in this dress! My sister also wants to rent a space for her daughter’s party and I think she should look for a Los Angeles venues as these are affordable and in budget too. Actually it would be very close to her hometown.
