Grandparents Day!!!

Today was Grandparents Day for the 1st graders at Brayden's school. Great Grandma Larsen and Great Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen came to be with him. He was the only student who had 3 Grandparents there!! He also had tons of letters to read. Nana and Papa wrote him letters, Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen, Great Grandma and Grandpa Ras and Great Grandma Larsen all wrote him and told him how much they loved him and what things were like when they were in 1st grade. They are the cutest letters!!! Brayden will keep them forever!!! Thank You to all of you for making this day unforgetable for Brayden, even if you weren't able to be at his school with him. He has the Best Grandparents in the world. We love each of you so much and are grateful for you love and your examples. We have amazing role models to look up to!! Thanks again!!!!
Brayden was able to read a book to his Grandparents that he wrote, they were able to draw pictures of eachother, and Brayden loved hearing all about his Grandparents experiences either in the letters or in person!! Adelyn also had fun showing her Great Grandparents her Preschool classroom too.
Great Grandma Larsen was sooo cute with Brayden and all of his classmates. You could tell that she was a teacher and that she was comfortable in the classroom. She told Brayden a story about how when she was little she went out to Recess and wanted to go down the big slide. But there were some big boys at the top and said she could only go down if she had money. She was devastated because they lived on a farm and didn't have alot of money. She went in to her teacher and told her what had happened. Her teacher told her to go pick up some little rocks and pretend that they were nickels and dimes. So she did and she went back up to those boys and said, "here is some money." Then they let her go down. It was so cute to sit there and listen to Grandma tell our kids stories!! She is an amazing Woman!!!
We feel so lucky to live by the kids Great Grandparents. Our kids love them and have relationships with them. I feel very blessed to have this experience. I have fond memories of my Great Grandma Wilkey and I'm glad that my children will have fond memories with their Great Grandparents too. Since Nana and Papa live in California and Grandma and Grandpa live in Nevada, we don't see them as much as we want to but we love them dearly! They are amazing people and we love the time that we are able to spend with them. Thanks again for making this day so memorable!! We Love You Guys!!!!

You guys undoubtably have the best, most incredible experience to be living close to not one, but three great grandparents. Your kids will always treasure that, and that is one of the things we miss about being so far away. I am so glad you did this and took the time to invite BOTH sets. That is so awesome and what a neat day.The pictures are so cute! I remember grandparents day and taking mine. I felt so special to share MY grandparents with those that didn't have there's with them.

And...this post (not your fault) made me so homesick that I called Ammon at school five seconds ago and asked him if we could drive to Utah in April and he didn't say "no"!! Well, he said, "We'll see, that could work"!!! I am going to jump on this boat if at all possible!!! We won't be able to go further than Utah (due to time) and (my mom will come in May, and I think we'll see the family at graduation) but we might be coming to Utah in April!!!! Ammon has April off and Ethan will have to miss school for a week, but hey-we are pros at this car-long distance thing!!! Don't get your hopes up...but I just might!!! Don't you love my quirky spontaneous, spur of the moment ideas that I make Ammon go along with? I guess this is for what fourth year if for! :) Luv ya lots and here's to awesome great grandparents and GRANDPARENTS!!! :)

AAH! I love those grandparents! I still remember the night of Seth's court of honor, BYU had lost and so Grandpa Ras pouted in the car instead of joining the festivities inside. :) I love those people!

I will never forget your Grandma and Grandpa Ras. Every time I ever saw them they would give me a hard time for not coming over to the house after an Encore Performance. - the one where Ammon thought it was our first date and everybody cleaned up...they ALWAYS made some comment about that every time I saw them! Good Memories!! ;)
