Merry Christmas!!!
We hope you are all having a fabulous Holiday Season filled with lots of laughter and fond memories. It’s amazing that it’s already this time of year again. Here is an update on our little family!
Brayden is 9 1/2 and is enjoying 4th grade. His teacher tells me often that she wishes she had a class full of Brayden’s. He loves playing Football and Basketball and is an amazing Piano player! He really likes to play Star Wars. (He loved dressing up as Star Wars as a family for Halloween!!) He is a good big brother and is very responsible and helpful. He is a good friend to everyone around. We are lucky to have him in our family!
Adelyn is 7 1/2 and loves 2nd grade. She is a great reader and gets her homework done all by herself. Adelyn is a little mommy and loves to help me cook, sew or do anything crafty. She is a good piano player too and loves practicing her Christmas songs!! Adelyn just lost her first 2 teeth. She’s been singing “All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth!” Good timing!! It’s fun to see her growing up so fast!
Sophie is 5 and is in Spanish Immersion Kindergarten this year. It’s fun to see her learning Spanish, she loves to show off her limited vocabulary and count for everyone and say her colors too. It’s fun to see her excited about learning and she’s definitely coming out of her shell. She’s the little leader of the pack and loves having fun with her siblings, cousins and friends!
Kolby is almost 3 (his birthday is on Christmas Day) and he is such a character. He has the funniest personality and makes us laugh every day. He has quite the vocabulary and loves to sing. He loves being a BIG BOY and loves wearing his big boys too!! I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to not have any children in diapers. It’s been since Brayden was born, oh it’s so nice!! Kolby really is a joy!! I can’t imagine life without him in our family.
LeGrand has had a busy year. He is still the Bishop of our Ward, the Principal of the Springville High Seminary , a coach (he is currently coaching Brayden’s Basketball team and has coached Sophie’s soccer team too) He’s my best friend and an incredible husband and father. These past few months have been challenging. LeGrand suffered a severe life threatening allergic reaction. He was covered in hives from head to toe for weeks. He couldn’t get out of bed, had to miss work (which he never does) was at the Dr. Office every day for 2 weeks, was taken to the hospital by ambulance once, and then later admitted to the hospital because he had hives in his stomach and bowels. He was diagnosed with “Steven Johnson’s Syndrome” (don’t look it up on the internet unless you have the stomach for it.) He has an appointment to see an Allergy Specialist next week and hopefully we will get some answers. Their best guess right now is that he is severely allergic to Amoxicillin which he was given because he also had strep throat. Talk about getting hit hard. He’s been battling hives for 7 weeks now. He’s been hive free for 5 days and is almost off his medicine. Yay!!!
This year I have enjoyed being a wife and mother, helping my aging Grandparents, being involved in the PTA and the kid’s classes, reading and running. I never thought I would love running, but I do! A Half Marathon is in the works in a few months!! I’m even taking a Spanish class so that I can help Sophie with her Spanish. Life is amazing, busy, fun and very fulfilling!
We feel blessed beyond measure! We feel God’s love for us every day in our lives. We are grateful that we can be together forever as a family! We are blessed with the knowledge of the Truth, each other, amazing Friends and Family. What more could you ask for???
We hope you have a very Merry Christmas and an Amazing New Year!!
Love,
LeGrand, Becca, Brayden, Adelyn, Sophie and Kolby Laing!!!
